Can I use my HSA/FSA?

This is a payment modifier: it applies inside whichever plan you're on, not a separate branch.

Generally, yes. FDA-approved GLP-1 medications prescribed to treat a diagnosed medical condition are typically eligible HSA/FSA expenses under IRS Publication 502. The membership or subscription fee some telehealth platforms charge separately from medication may or may not qualify, so that’s worth confirming with your plan administrator.

Some administrators ask for a letter of medical necessity, particularly if the medication is billed for weight management rather than diabetes. Your prescriber can usually provide one.

Keep your prescription and receipts regardless. That’s what most administrators ask for if a purchase is ever reviewed.
